A new flight from Jodhpur to Noida is also starting from July 1st.
Jodhpur | The much-awaited new terminal at Jodhpur Airport is fully ready. Built at a cost of about ₹400 crore, the inauguration of this modern terminal awaits final clearance from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS).
Preparations for Inauguration After Inspection
A BCAS team will arrive in Jodhpur on Wednesday to inspect the new terminal. For two days, this team will conduct a thorough check of aviation security standards, operational readiness, and security arrangements.
After the inspection, the team will submit its report to the headquarters. The final approval from BCAS is expected by next week.
According to sources, once the approval is granted, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be requested to inaugurate it. This inauguration may coincide with the launch of the Pachpadra Refinery, proposed for July 4th.
If the Prime Minister agrees, he will land at Jodhpur Airport, inaugurate the new terminal, and then depart for Pachpadra by helicopter.
Modern Features of the New Terminal
This new terminal has been built near the old one. It is constructed on a mild steel-based modular structure using Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete (GFRC).
Its vast lounge area uses only six columns, giving it an open and modern look. However, it lacks the traditional heritage look as Jodhpuri stone has not been used.
An official stated, "This new terminal will provide world-class facilities to passengers and will be a significant milestone in Jodhpur's growing air connectivity."
All flight operations will commence from the new terminal within a month of its inauguration, providing great relief to passengers.
Increasing Connectivity: New Flight to Noida
Currently, Jodhpur Airport operates ten flights to six major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Pune, and Hyderabad.
In good news for passengers, IndiGo Airlines is extending its Ahmedabad-Jodhpur flight to Noida from July 1st.
This aircraft will now fly from Ahmedabad to Jodhpur, then to Noida, and return via the same route, offering a new option for the Delhi-NCR region.
The launch of the new terminal will not only increase passenger capacity but also boost tourism and trade in the region. It will write a new chapter in Jodhpur's development.
